When brands test on animals, they usually don't test on them in Canada. Rather, they still test on animals in other countries, and claim they are cruelty free in Canada even though your money still goes towards testing on animals. Also, some brands are own by larger companies, and while the brand might not test on animals, the owning company does. This way your money goes towards animal testing as well, and you would't even notice.
There are THOUSANDS of animals who get abused and killed just because we test our own products on them. We force feed, inject, and rub them in all sorts of chemicals before letting products hit the market. In Canada, they are passing a law to ban animal testing in Canada (YAY), but the battle isn't over yet. In China, it is still mandatory to test on animals before any product can hit the market.
